Fruit and gourmand notes tell different stories
A fruity accord may suggest juicy flesh, tart skin or a riper fruit. A gourmand fragrance more directly suggests an edible sensation, such as vanilla or praline. The two registers can overlap, but a fruity perfume is not necessarily very sweet; clarify the effect you want before beginning your comparisons on skin.
Check what balances the sweet accents
Woods, patchouli or a floral facet can give sweetness definition. Wait for the opening to develop before assessing that structure and its comfort. If you enjoy a lighter gourmand effect, compare it with a fruity floral: you may discover that freshness matters more to you than the richness or sweetness of the drydown.
